The Jenkins Ore Trail was compiled or reported by Barry Storm in his book Thunder God's Gold. He believed that Jenkin's gold source was very close. He did find a chunk of high grade gold ore about 1 away in Boulder Canyon. William P. Jenkins reported to have found a large gold nugget about half the size of a head while on a day hike in 1937.
