Southwest Publications was created in June of 1995 by Mitchell Waite to publish works of unknown authors and introducing them into the literary world. It was quite evident there was plenty of great literature being lost due to large publishers noting want to take a chance on an unknown writer. Hard copy costs and inventories greatly reduce the number of titles a publisher can present to the literary world and still make a profit. E-books have the potential to change all of this. No physical inventory and no shipping charges offers us a chance to present to greatly reduce our prices and provide more budding authors and artists a chance to get their works out to the public.
If you would like to submit a manuscript you must follow these guidelines. 1. Submit a synopsis of the work, not more than five pages in length. 2. Include the first three chapters on 8.5 x 11 inch paper, double spaced and in 12 pitch. 3. If you want your work returned to you, include a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope (SASE). We will contact you if you meet our needs. All non-selected works will be destroyed unless you provide the SASE. If your works are selected for further review, we will contact you to obtain the remaining portion of your work. After a review, we may accept or reject the manuscript. Non selections will be destroyed unless you provide a SASE. If we choose to publish, we will contact you for an interview and possible contract negotiations. During the review process, do not call us or email us for status. It will only slow us down. Please allow 4 to 6 months for a review.
Hints: This is a family oriented store. Keep it at a PG-13 level or better. We will automatically reject any work we deem inappropriate to our standards.
